Archived portfolios
Since 2002, I've created online portfolios to house visual design work. Each helped me to understand emerging web technologies, and allowed me to put into practice things I had learnt in the intervals.

This was a huge progression for me. Built using a development environment (Grunt).

Constructed entirely in Flash, this allowed me to have precise control over layout, typography, and all those other things designers loved but were lacking in the HTML spec at the time.

By this point I had become much more confident with ActionScript and this contains entirely code based animations and transitions. As noted at the time, this design was based on some AFGA packaging from 1980s found at Bristol Scrap Store.

In early 2007 I had managed to land an internship at a small studio in Clapham, resulting in my first bits of commercial client work. As a young designer, it's common to only have drips and drabs to your name, as direction is handled by those more senior. Attempting to work in sympathy with this, this portfolio took the form of a fast-moving short showreel.
